Original visuals. Sharp writing. Free to read. Data stories about India and the Netherlands — told by someone who lives at the intersection of both.
Numbers live in spreadsheets. Stories live in people's heads. AekMak exists to close that gap — taking raw data about India and the Netherlands and turning it into something you actually want to read.
Every piece is built around an original visual: a chart, a map, an interactive. The writing frames what you're looking at, why it matters, and what it means. No fluff, no 2,000-word preamble, no filler.
Think Visual Capitalist meets Finshots — the visual is the story, and the words are the context. Three minutes to read. Hours to research and build.
Equity, mutual funds, sector trends, portfolio data
Airline economics, route data, airport traffic
Dutch economy, expat data, EU-India connections

Founder, AekMak
I'm a data professional based in the Netherlands, with roots in India. My career has spanned aviation analytics and financial data — two worlds that love numbers but rarely tell good stories with them.
AekMak is my attempt to fix that. It's a personal publishing platform: I pick a dataset that interests me, find the story inside it, build a visual that makes it click, and write the words that tie it together.
No team. No VC funding. No agenda. Just data stories I'd want to read — and hope you will too.
Three references shaped what AekMak should feel like. Not a clone of any of them — a synthesis, from an Indian-Dutch perspective.
The visual is the headline. Every story is anchored in an original chart, map, or graphic. The writing exists to explain the visual — not the other way around.
No padding. No filler. If you understand the story in three minutes, the writing has done its job. The research behind it may take days; the read never should.
Geography matters. Where something happens tells you as much as what happened. Interactive maps and regional data are a core part of how AekMak tells its stories.
One original data story every week. Free, always. No noise, no filler — just the story.
